Naomi Lawson-Baird, Born and raised in Vancouver, B.C., started performing at age 6 in many commercials, TV and film projects including The Dead Zone and Scary Movie 3. At age 10, She went on to train in many styles of dance and performing arts at institutions such as Perform Art Studios and Drive Dance Centre’s Scholarship program. After high school, Naomi went on to a dance teacher training program at Perform Art College and then received a Diploma in Contemporary Dance Studies at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, UK. Naomi then moved to Calgary, AB to complete two years at Decidedly Jazz Danceworks in the Professional Training Program. Naomi has been teaching dance for over 13 years in multiple disciplines including: Ballet, Jazz, Modern/Contemporary, Lyrical, Tap, and Salsa.
Naomi also has had a vast range of performing experiences such as: Wembley Arena’s opening ceremonies for the 2011 Champions League Final in London, Dancing in videos with Marianas Trench, Matthew Good Band, Anchoress, and Diljit Dosanjh, and performing with companies like: Soulocentric’s Bach Tots, Army of Sass, Vancouver’s Chic-A-Boom-Room, The Lovers Cabaret and Restless Productions. As well, Naomi has guest performed with companies like Moscow Ballet, Ballet Jorgen, Ballet B.C., Alberta Ballet, Colab Art Productions and Bravo Dance Company.
